Submission Guidelines
Clare welcomes your original, unpublished poetry (limit 5/submission), short fiction (limit 5000 words), and nonfiction (limit 5000 words). Our reading period for the 2017 Issue is from Feb. 1 to May 1. Submissions we receive at other times will not be read. We accept simultaneous submissions but request prompt notification upon acceptance elsewhere. Except in special circumstances, we are unable to provide feedback on rejections beyond simple notification. Please only send one submission (up to 5 poems, 5000 words prose) per genre per reading period. Because we are a small, nonprofit operation, we are unable to pay our contributors. We no longer accept snail mail submissions.
We are interested in publishing the occasional review of contemporary literature. Writers interested in writing a review (up to 500 words) for the magazine should contact the editor before submission.
